Bellevue is one of City of Swan's older suburbs nestled between the foothills and the growing city of Midland administered by both the City of Swan and the Shire of Mundaring.

The original Bellevue Hall, built by Heskith, faced the street known to day as Purton Place. The hall was used until 1972 when it was demolished to make way for the current building, the RSL Club.

The Bellevue Hall shown in Helen Street, and now used by the scouts, was opened on the 2nd July 1909. It was built by the Bellevue Mechanics Institute it was taken over by the Midland Junction Council in 1938, at the request of the Bellevue Mechanics Institute, and the building leased back to them.

It was the venue for for many a dance and even movies were shown there. The old projection box is still visible from inside the building. Contact the City of Swan to use this hall.

The Bellevue Memorial Community Centre building was built by the RSL as an infant health care centre. We use it our meetings and have raised thousands of dollars to improve these rooms. They are equipped with a kitchen and toilets. We now have tables and chairs and reverse cycle air conditioning.

It would be great, after our efforts, to see these rooms used more by our local community. If you have a use for them please drop us a line.

The Darling Range Hotel started life in 1903 as the "East Midland Hotel". After initial difficulty obtaining a permission to open from the Guildford Licensing Court it was located on the highway to be closer to the customers from the old Helena Racecourse. The original racecourse has since been replaced by the Midvale light industrial area.

Photos of the original hotel show it with an imposing tower and ironwork verandah; the tower has since been demolished. The hotel upstairs is a boarding house and an Indian restaurant on the ground floor. The licensed premises occupy an addition to the east side of the original building and popular with tradies on Friday afternoon/evenings.

An Indian restaurant occupies part of the main building while the upstairs is used as a hostel.
